Fragile Light
As a child I lived too soon in noise and fear,
In walls of silence — no one near.
I begged for warmth, but cold replied,
Yet fragile light burned deep inside.
I’m not the names they threw my way,
I’m all I’ve lived, and all I’ve braved.
From every tear, new power grew,
My phoenix light forever true.
Fragile light — you cannot break me,
With wounded wings, I still fly free.
They hurt, they left — yet here I glow,
A phoenix flame the stars will know.
Fragile light — but I did not break,
Each scar I wear taught me to wake.
They hurt, they left — but still I stand,
A fire they’ll never kill by hand.
Fragile light — but I did not break.
I loved and gave though pain returned,
My heart still hoped, though it was burned.
Autistic soul, it beats its own song,
It loves so deep — if you stay strong.
