About Cynthia Greenwood-Smith's disappearance from her Gold Coast home. Mrs. Greenwood-Smith (53) was murdered by her husband, Ross Greenwood-Smith (55) in 2001. It was alleged ongoing renovations on their Gold Coast hinterland home had put strain on their marriage. Cynthia Greenwood-Smith (born: Reid) was last seen at Wongawallan Drive on October 1 and was later reported missing by a close friend. All her belongings were later found under a newly built pool. Mr. Greenwood-Smith refused to be formally interviewed and then went missing and committed suicide. His body was found about two weeks after he fled, deep in remote bushland near Nimbin NSW. His wrists and throat had been slashed with the death treated as non-suspicious. An inquest eventually ruled Mrs. Greenwood-Smith was likely murdered by her husband but her remains have never been found. The case remained open but it was unlikely an arrest would ever be made. A 25-year-old murder mystery.
